Offer Details

Full Access
Azure for Students Starter is a cloud-offer aimed at verified students that allows you to access a subset of Azure services free of charge, with no upfront cost or credit-card required.
Specifically, you get access to certain services such as

  • Azure App Service – host web apps, APIs, mobile back-ends.
  • Azure Functions – serverless code execution.
  • Azure Notification Hubs – push notifications for mobile apps.
  • Azure Database for MySQL (MySQL in-app) – database support for web apps.
  • Application Insights (feature of Azure Monitor) – diagnostics/telemetry.
  • Azure DevOps Services (formerly Visual Studio Team Services) – collaboration and code repos.

The offer is described as having no commitment or fixed time-limit as long as you remain eligible (i.e., still a student and verifying status) and the subscription is active.
This is different from the full “Azure for Students” offer (for university students) which includes a $100 credit and broader service access.

  • Free access to selected Azure services (App Service, Functions, Notification Hubs, MySQL, Application Insights, DevOps)
  • No time-limit commitment (as long as you are a student)
