Endpoint Index

Website Overview

Choosing endpoint security for a small business often means comparing vendor claims, changing prices, lab results, and different product types at the same time. Endpoint Index appears designed to make that workflow more manageable by bringing antivirus, EDR, and managed response products into one comparison database. Its focus is not simply on naming a winner; it ranks products by a published Small Business Fit Score and shows the evidence behind the ranking.

The directory currently presents products from vendors including Bitdefender, ESET, Microsoft, Avast, Acronis, CrowdStrike, Sophos, SentinelOne, Huntress, and others. Visitors can review category leaders, browse the full leaderboard, and compare prices at 10-, 25-, or 100-seat fleet sizes where pricing is available.

Experience and Functionality

The comparison table is built for practical screening. Filters cover product category, EDR inclusion, 24/7 managed response, fleet size, and price. Each listing may show purchase method, minimum seat count, per-seat or per-user annual pricing, lab-test coverage, and the date the information was checked.

The methodology is particularly useful for visitors who want to understand why products rank as they do. The stated formula weights lab efficacy at 35%, price and price level at 25%, ease for a small team at 25%, and feature coverage at 15%. Endpoint Index also distinguishes recent, older, and unavailable public lab results rather than presenting all testing as equivalent. Microsoft is priced per user, while most other entries are shown per seat, an important detail when comparing totals.

Prices are described as list prices sourced from vendor stores or calculators, with promotions shown separately on some entries. The site says changes are checked weekly, logged publicly, and available for reuse as CSV data under CC BY 4.0.

Useful Scenarios

Endpoint Index may help a small-business owner create an initial shortlist, compare online purchasing requirements, or assess whether a lower price comes with less public testing evidence. IT consultants and procurement teams could also use the fleet-size views when preparing a preliminary comparison. The managed-response filter is useful for separating conventional endpoint protection from offerings that include or add 24/7 monitoring.

Who May Benefit

The resource is most relevant to buyers who value transparent pricing, dated evidence, and a repeatable ranking method. It may be less suitable as a complete security evaluation: a Fit Score is explicitly a measure of suitability for a small-business buyer, not an absolute protection verdict.

Final Perspective

Endpoint Index is a focused research tool for narrowing endpoint-security options with visible evidence rather than relying only on vendor positioning. Before making a purchase, visitors should confirm current prices, promotions, seat minimums, sales-only quotes, licensing terms, lab-report dates, and the exact features included in each plan directly with the vendor.
