Receipt Maker

The Main Idea

Receipt Maker sits within the broader web tools and SaaS category, specifically alongside document generators and lightweight business administration tools. That category matters because it helps people handle routine paperwork without adopting a full accounting platform. Here, the focus is narrow: creating signed PDF receipts for payments such as rent, deposits, cash transactions, and partial payments.

The service is available as an iPhone and iPad app, with a browser-based generator for creating a receipt without an account. The website says its form stays in the browser and produces one PDF at a time. App users can keep receipts searchable on their phone, duplicate a previous receipt, sign with a finger, and send the result by text, email, or print.

What Visitors Can Explore

The site presents several receipt formats rather than treating every transaction like a generic store receipt. Available examples include:

• Cash receipts with payer, amount, purpose, and signature details
• Rent receipts with property and rental-period information
• Security deposit receipts that distinguish the payment from a tax charge
• Partial-payment and down-payment receipts showing the balance due
• Private-sale receipts for transactions involving items such as cars, bikes, or furniture
• Contractor and auto-repair receipt scenarios

The app also describes installment-plan receipts, including payment numbering and the wider schedule. A payment QR code, amount written in words, and signature support are listed among the included capabilities.

Potential Uses

This tool may suit landlords, independent contractors, private sellers, repair providers, and anyone who occasionally needs a formal record that money was received. The partial-payment format is particularly relevant when the transaction is not settled in one step, since the remaining balance is calculated and displayed.

For occasional use, the free app allowance is three receipts per month and includes a small watermark. The site also allows individual online receipts, while its Pro option removes the monthly limit and watermark and adds templates, styling controls, and annual rent statements per tenant. Exact subscription or one-time-purchase pricing is shown in the relevant App Store and should be checked there.

Audience and Fit

Receipt Maker is a better fit for people who need receipts, not invoices. The site explicitly distinguishes a receipt confirming payment from an invoice requesting payment, so businesses with broader tax, billing, or bookkeeping requirements may need dedicated invoicing or accounting software instead.

Before You Rely on It

The provider makes no universal legal-validity promise; acceptance can depend on local rules and the person or organization receiving the document. Android users should also note that the native app is described as coming soon, although the web generator works in a browser. Confirm the current app availability, pricing, receipt limits, and whether a particular recipient accepts this format before making it part of a formal record-keeping process.
